DeKalb School District’s new and returning student online registration for the 2024-2025 school year will begin on Monday, April 1, 2024. For returning students, registration can be completed by logging in to your Family Access account or by clicking REGISTER NOW. Enter your login ID and password. Once you have successfully logged into Family Access, choose “Returning Student Online Registration 2024-2025 School Year.”

Students who are new to the DeKalb School District and are entering Kindergarten – 12th grade for the 2024-2025 school year must register online. Visit New Students 2024-2025 school year to begin the enrollment process.

To enroll in Kindergarten, students must be five years of age by September 1, 2024.

Students aged four and under may qualify for the Early Learning and Development Center (ELDC) preKindergarten program. Before submitting an online application, please contact the ELDC program at 815-754-2361 to set up a screening appointment for your child. Only students who have been screened and qualified should submit an application.  

All students must complete online registration each year in order to attend DeKalb schools. Any current elementary or middle school student who is not registered by May 12, 2024, may not be able to attend their current school. Middle school and high school students who are not registered will not receive their schedules until online registration is completed.

Registration in-person event

A student registration event to assist families and provide a place to come in person to register their students will be held on Monday, April 22, 5-7 p.m., at Huntley Middle School. A light meal will be provided. Additional registration event dates throughout the spring will be announced and listed on the District website. 

Families are strongly encouraged to register their students as soon as possible to help ensure placement in their designated schools.
