School Resource officer talks with middle school students

The District leadership hired two new School Resource Officers (SROs) at the start of the 2022-23 school year to increase resources and help further support students. There are now five DeKalb Police resource officers assigned to schools in the district with two assigned to the high school, one officer at each middle school, and an officer dedicated to the elementary schools. An article published in the November 3 issue of the Daily Chronicle, highlights the SROs who are new to the district and their dedication to helping students succeed.

“Our School Resource Officers (SROs) are caring, highly-trained, and dedicated professionals who make our schools safer and help our children in more ways than can possibly be described. We are thankful for their service and proud to have them be a part of our schools and community,” said Rita Elliott, district communications coordinator.
