The time from August to December seems to have passed in the blink of an eye, yet we know so much has been accomplished, learned, and enjoyed by all this semester. As we close the year and prepare for all that 2023 will bring, I want to take this moment to say thank you and express my gratitude to everyone who supports our students, teachers, administrators, and staff in so many ways. Whether big or small, every effort positively impacts our children. It is my honor to serve the students and families of DeKalb as your superintendent, and I’m proud to be a part of this dynamic community.

I hope you can take some time these next few weeks to spend time with those you love and do the things that bring you joy. We look forward to embarking on the new year, which promises to be full of rewarding experiences, progress, and growth. Have a safe and happy holiday break, and we look forward to welcoming our students back on January 9, 2023.

With warm regards,
Minerva Garcia-Sanchez, Ed.D. Superintendent, DeKalb CUSD 428
