Returning Student Registration

Returning Student Registration Now Open!

Online registration for the 2026-2027 school year is now open for all returning students. Returning student registration must be completed prior to May 14, 2026 to reserve your child's spot in their current Elementary or Middle School.

For all new and returning completed registrations received after May 14, 2026, students will be placed on a first come, first serve basis. Some students may be overflowed to other schools within the district depending on availability.

Note: DeKalb High School students and middle school students will not receive their schedules until online registration is completed.

All students that were active at the end of last school year:

Students returning to the Early Learning Development Center (ELDC) for PreKindergarten and Early Childhood

Students enrolled at ELDC who will be entering Kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year

Students enrolled at an elementary school (5th grade) and continuing to 6th grade at the middle schools

Students enrolled at the middle schools (8th grade) and continuing to DeKalb High School

Moving?

For changes to guardian phone numbers, email addresses or emergency contacts, call or email your student's school office personnel.
If you have not moved or will not be moving prior to the start of the school year, please continue with returning student registration.
If you have moved or will be moving prior to the start of the school year, you must provide updated proof of residency documents (Arabic/Spanish) to the District Registrar prior to completing the Returning Student Registration.

Address Changes

STOP- do not submit a Returning student registration form until you have updated your address with the district registrar.

If you have moved, (your address does not match the address we have on file) to update your address, choose one of the options below:

Submit a Change of Address Online form found in Skyward Family Access (one form per family). Electronic proof of residency documents must be uploaded within the form (preferred method for quicker approval)
Email your updated proof of residency documents as described below to [email protected]
Bring your proof of residency documents to our district office, located at 901 S 4th St, DeKalb. Once your address has been updated, you will be notified that you can continue with completing Returning Student Registration for the 2026-27 school year.

Introducing Skyward Qmaltiv

A major upgrade to our existing Student Information System, Skyward, has been underway for the past year. Skyward Qmlativ is the new registration platform launched in July, 2024. The process has been streamlined for to improve the online registration. Along with a more streamlined registration process, you can also see your student's assignments, grades, attendance, and much more.

We have created a video to give you step-by-step instructions on how to access the platform through a browser or mobile device.
