November 19 Board Update From President Christopher Boyes
On behalf of the Board of Education, I want to thank everyone who participated in the community survey and listening session meetings. The information gathered through the survey and the discussions held during the listening sessions has provided the board with valuable feedback and insights that help inform our work more deeply as we continue through the process of selecting the District’s next leader. We invite everyone to review the survey results and the resulting Leadership Profile, and to stay up-to-date on the search process on our Superintendent Search webpage.
The multiple voices and viewpoints shared with us during the past month are crucially important as we move forward through the selection process. I’m pleased to share that the candidate pool is strong, and we look forward to carefully reviewing all of the applications to select finalists. From there, a diverse group of individuals from across the District and community will participate in interview teams to provide their input to the Board of Education for its final review and selection. We remain on track to complete the interview and candidate selection by the end of January.
I am grateful to our dedicated employees and community for their engagement and commitment to DeKalb Community Unit School District 428, so that together we can continue our notable progress in serving our mission to provide an equitable and inclusive education that supports and challenges our students to reach their full potential.
