The old March folklore of ‘in like a lion, out like a lamb’ is definitely reversed this year! The unusually warm temperatures as we head into March bring springtime feelings and a fast-approaching spring break! This time of the year signifies we are close to ending the school year. There is still so much to do! And as we do, we continue to celebrate great things happening around the district.
News and Celebrations in the Schools
Brooks Elementary School is finding innovative and interactive ways for students to grow in their skills. Brooks has started a coffee shop, called Jellyfish Cafe, where students sell coffees, teas, hot chocolate, as well as a monthly special treat. The Jellyfish Cafe allows the students to serve our staff while practicing social interaction, communication skills, respect, and responsibility. The funds from the Jellyfish Cafe will be used for an end-of-year celebration.
Wax Museum presentations -Littlejohn fifth graders did a fantastic job at presenting Black History Month’s Wax Museum. Students from younger grades were able to hear about great people who have done amazing things in history. Malta fifth graders will showcase their Black History Month Wax Museum presentations on March 4.
