More than 500 students will have their unique pieces of art featured in the annual DeKalb District Art Show taking place May 5-7, 2026 at the Egyptian Theatre in downtown DeKalb. Show hours are from 5-8 p.m. Admission is free and concessions will be available. 
On Thursday's closing night, art teachers from the district will be present to greet families and results from the juried High School and Middle school portion of the art show will feature awards for first, second, and third place for the top three artworks in the categories of Painting, Neutral Drawing, Colored Drawing, Mixed Media, Printmaking, Sculptural Ceramics, Functional Ceramics, Digital Art, and Photography.
Middle school work will be judged by grade level.There will also be artwork selected by the judges as the “Best of Show.”
