New and Returning Student Registration opens April 1, 2025, for the 2025-26 school year
DeKalb School District's new and returning student online registration for the 2025-2026 school year begins on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Families are strongly encouraged to register their students as soon as possible to help ensure placement in their designated schools.
For returning students, registration can be completed by logging in to your Family Access account or by visiting the Returning Student Registration page. Enter your login ID and password. Once you have successfully logged into Family Access, choose “Returning Student Online Registration 2026-2026 School Year.”
For the 2025-26 school year, all new and returning elementary school registrations must provide proof of residency. The updated elementary school boundary map is available on the Registration website at this LINK.
Students who are new to the DeKalb School District and are entering Kindergarten - 12th grade for the 2025-2026 school year must register online. Visit New Students 2024-2025 school year to begin the enrollment process.
To enroll in Kindergarten, students must be five years of age by September 1, 2025.
Students aged four and under may qualify for the Early Learning and Development Center (ELDC) preKindergarten program. Before submitting an online application, please contact the ELDC program at 815-754-2361 to set up a screening appointment for your child. Only students who have been screened and qualified should submit an application.
All students must complete online registration each year in order to attend DeKalb schools. Any current elementary or middle school student who is not registered by May 9, 2025, may not be able to attend their current school. Middle school and high school students who are not registered will not receive their schedules until online registration is completed.
