V.O.I.C.E.S.

Volunteers Offering Intergenerational Collaborative Experiences with Students

More than 50 excited, wonderful volunteers attended the orientation and celebration event on October 23, 2007, as we kicked off our 2007/2008 volunteer season!

What is V.O.I.C.E.S.?

The purpose of the V.O.I.C.E.S. program is to create opportunities and develop ideas for the involvement of all generations in promoting quality education. V.O.I.C.E.S. will strengthen the connections among all levels of education (preschool-college) and retiree/aging organizations. V.O.I.C.E.S. will promote understanding among cultures through dialogue, curricula and historical perspectives. This program will bring all generations together to solve problems through intergenerational leadership and community involvement.

Opportunities will exist to help just a few times during the school year, or as often as every week. Listed below are basic descriptions of volunteer needs throughout the district this year. We look forward to talking to you about what you can do to help build a stronger community for everyone. Your VOICE will make a difference!!
