Mission Statement

The mission of the DeKalb Music Boosters, as the primary advocate for the music performance programs at the middle through high school levels, is to serve and assist the music programs and their directors. 

As Music Boosters, our overall purpose is to bring students an appreciation and enjoyment of listening to and making music as a life long activity.

Annual Fundraising Projects

The Music Boosters host two major fundraisers each year.  Our annual Craft Fair is held in conjunction with the DeKalb Corn Fest in August and our holiday Fruit Sales take place in late October.  Funds raised from these benefit all of the DeKalb music programs.  

 The DeKalb Music Boosters have:

·         raised more than $10,000 to send DHS Jazz Ensemble to compete at Lincoln Center.

·         provided funds to send Guys A Cappella group to national competition in New York City.

·         provided $10,000 for Band, Choir and Orchestra students to attend a music symposium in Atlanta, Georgia.

·         purchased over $200,000 worth of instruments for DeKalb middle/high schools.

·         provided thousands of dollars in scholarships to middle/high school musicians and graduating seniors . . . and much more!
