DeKalb Music Booster Representative
DeKalb Music Boosters Representative is an important link between the performance group and Music Boosters.  Many times parents have a unique perspective of the needs for that performance area.  Attending the DeKalb Music Boosters meeting is how you make sure the needs of your performance group are reflected in the decisions made at the meeting.  The time commitment is one evening a month and the meetings are usually held the 4th Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. in the DHS Band Room.  Questions?  Contact the officers.

Concert Assistance
Concert Assistance is provided to each of the performance directors based upon what each director identifies as needed.  At the middle schools level when performances are held at the school, assistance is needed with setting up the gym.  Generally assistance is for typing/printing/distributing concert programs, organizing refreshments and special celebrations, and being ”on hand” to smooth out any problems during the concert.

Maintenance Assistance
Maintenance Assistance  is an easy and fun way to support music, particularly if you love to do projects.  The time commitment is very flexible and many times the actual work is done over the summer.  Projects include maintaining music stands, instruments, developing creative solutions for storage and anything else your performance director would like. Supports annual improvement and clean up activities in the music rooms.

Publicity
Publicity Assistance is provided to support both the DeKalb Music Boosters activities and each performance director. The publicity activities may include writing articles, taking pictures, and getting information to the newspapers and radio.  Articles that are written to publicize the DeKalb Music Boosters need to be approved by the president or the event coordinator. Articles written for each program director need to be approved by the performance director.  The time commitment for this activity is very flexible.

Computer Assistance
Computer Assistance for the music performance directors is always helpful as the computer equipment, programs, and databases need upgrading and time commitments and computer confidence levels vary.

Uniforms
Uniforms for the band students at Huntley and DHS need parental support with inventory, fitting, ordering gloves and shoes.  The time commitment is primarily in August and early September with some assistance at the end of school when the uniforms are cleaned.  At Huntley assistance is needed before each parade to distribute the hats before each parade and then collect them.  At the high school level the Uniform volunteers work with the band camp parent volunteers and student helpers. With the addition of  new high school uniforms assistance is needed before and after each perfomance handing out and collecting uniforms.  They do not go home with the students.
