Descriptions
Art History
This course introduces the students to the history of art by examining
the major forms of artistic expression fromt he past to the present and from
a variety of cultures.
Prerequisite: None

Art 1, Art
2
Art 1 and 2 are introductory sequential courses which provide
beginning art students a foundation in the visual arts. The basic elements and
principles of drawing and design are studied as a preparation for further art
courses.

Art 3, Art
4
Art 3 and 4 are sequential courses which allow students to advance
and continue their exploration and development of skills begun in Art 1 and
2. Foundation drawing and painting techniques and procedures are reviewed,
reinforced and expanded upon through material and theme development in a sequential
format.
Prerequisite: Art 1, 2
Note: It is strongly recommended that the students have a "B"
or better average in Art 1 and 2 to enroll in this course.

Art 5, Art
6
Art 5 and 6 are sequential courses designed to allow the advanced
level art student an opportunity to continue their exploration and development
of skills begun in Art 1-4. This course is accelerated enabling highly motivated
students to engage in advanced level art production in a variety of 2D as well
ad 3D media.
Prerequisites: Art 1, 2, 3, 4
Note: It is strongly recommended that the students have a "B"
or better average in Art 1 and 2 to enroll in this course.

Ceramics
1, Ceramics 2
Ceramics 1 and 2 are sequential advanced
level studio classes. Various methods of working with clay will be explored.
Prerequisites: Art 1, 2

Ceramics 3
Ceramics 3 is an accelerated course which
allows interested students an opportunity to continue the development of skills
and techniques begun in Ceramics 1 and 2.
Prerequisites: Ceramics 1, 2

Photography
1
Photography 1 gives the students a basic knowledge of how their
camera works. Students develop and print their own photographs and learn many
darkroom procedures and techniques.

Photography 2 explores the imaginative use of the camera and the
darkroom Students will explore photographic special effects and will also produce
an extensive photo essay.
Prerequisites: Photography 1
