02/27/2008 - Clinton Rosette Hosts Science Fair

With sparks flying, music being transmitted through radio waves, and guesses of how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop, these and many other fantastically inquisitive projects were viewed by students, staff, administration and community members at a recent Clinton Rosette Middle School Science Fair.

More than fifty student projects were entered in the fair this year. Students from 6th – 8th  grades displayed their talents of using the scientific method, in addition to research, writing, and public speaking to find out answers to many important issues that help us all better understand the world around us.

Students earning Outstanding marks were: Clayton Hobbs, Breyah Calhoun, Sarah Bellout, Lauren Cliffe, Jake Kvasnicka, Harrison Hintzsche, Ben Dougen, Haley Bruno, Brooke Wilson, Ben King, Shibo Yao, David Dailey, Jacob Marx, Lauren Baker, Henry Deng, Reagan Tiggelar, Sam Bennett, Scott Beluzzi and Eric Lee.

Students earning High Honors were: Brenton Strobert, Aaron Holly, Adam Bellout, Evan Jones, Jake Sommer, Amber Kooken, Victoria Voorhis, Brandi Brubaker, Kwijona Calvin, Jamesia Perkins, Natalie Hart, Hayleigh Meinen, Merrick Haji-Sheikh, Carlie Hayes, Zak Dikson, Sean Woodford,

Students earning Honorable mention were: Alyssa Mershon, Rachel Barber, Haley Wilke, Emma Franklin, Chris Iteen, Tim Fogarty, Regan Mommer, Grant Mommer, Coltin Phelps, Audra Henderson-Sawyer, Hailey Powell, Kati Simpson, Corey Lindo, Brendan Robertson, Sara Smith, Tania Hernandez, Peyton Eitel, Tucker Code, Emad Malick, Mason Struthers, Danny Engstrom, Eric Chagnon, Diana Polanco, Casey Lothson, Brenton Aslakson, Zoe Hamilton, Kristina Reyes, Chloe Henning, Hillary Ullman, Tiffany Dimaggio, Sammy Lake, Ramaneek Chitkara, Dirtha Ortega, Gaby Leon, Diksha Chitkara, Savanna Robles, Shae Dallman, Taylor Jones, Ty Henry, Austin Wisdom, Nate Overman, Vanessa Kooken, Courtney Shott, Yezkel Miranda, Emily Hankins, Tranessa Howell, Ravi Patel, Peyton Heldt, and Mish Rizah.  

Students earning Outstanding awards will compete in the Illinois Junior Academy of Science Regional Science Fair to be held at Northern Illinois University’s Holmes Student Center on Saturday April 5th and will be available to the public for viewing from noon until 2:00 p.m.
