DISTRICT 428 - IN THE NEWS

12/04/2007 - Marti Brown Recognized by School Board for Receiving National Board Certification Status: Marti Brown, fifth grade teacher at Littlejohn Elementary School, was recognized by the Board of Education for her accomplishment of receiving certification as a Nationally Board Certified Teacher. Brown becomes only the third district certified teacher to receive the national certification. This distinction signifies a teacher has shown high levels of proficiency in classroom instruction, and is the result of a greuling multi-year process. Five additional District 428 teachers made progress toward National Board Certification this year.
