01/10/2007 - District 428 Inviting Public Input Regarding Language Arts Textbooks

DeKalb High School  is purchasing new textbooks for the language arts department. After extensive review of top textbook options, the committee has tentatively chosen Writers Inc: School To Work, published by Great Source Education Group, a Houghton-Mifflin Company.

Interested parents and citizens of Cortland, DeKalb, and Malta are invited to look at the recommended textbook and offer written commentary on it for the Board of Education. Forms will be available for community feedback. The books will be displayed in the Curriculum Library of the District Education Center located at 901 S. 4^th Street, DeKalb. The textbook may be viewed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, until February 11, 2008. The Board of Education will consider community feedback prior to voting on acceptance of the textbook.
