First Grade

During our design unit we studied the ABCs of art: line, shape, and color. Students discovered that they could make patterns by repeating these elements. We found examples of pattern in the book Lots and Lots of Zebra Stripes and were amazed to find many examples in our own classroom! Students used their imagination to create their own patterns in a hand design project.

Second Grade

During our design unit we studied the ABCs of art: line, shape, color and texture. Students used their imagination to manipulate these elements into beautiful line designs! Ask your second grader about invisible lines.
