First Grade

During our history unit, the students looked at examples of prehistoric cave drawings. Art can be a window into the past! Becoming art detectives for the day, we discussed what art might have been like back then, the animals that were alive during that period and the style of art. Students used what they had learned to create their own cave drawing. Ask your child “how” they learned to draw so well!

Second Grade

During our history unit, the students looked at the drawings and paintings of the ancient Egyptians. Becoming art detectives for the day, they gathered information about Egyptian lifethrough the ancient artwork. After all, art can be a window into the past! The students used what they had learned to create an Egyptian drawing of their own, complete with hieroglyphs.

Third Grade

During our history unit, the students looked at the art of the Middle Ages. Just like detectives, they searched for clues that might reveal what life was like during that time. Art can be a window into the past! They used what they had learned to create a drawing of their own.
