04/28/08 - Art Students Present Public Art Reception

Hundreds of pieces of art, including photographs, pencil drawings, and numerous additional composition mediums will be on display in the Library Media Center this week at DeKalb High School. Original works of kindergarten through twelfth grade students will be shown during business hours beginning Tuesday, April 29, 2008. The extensive display will also be available for viewing during a special reception and awards ceremony on Thursday, May 1 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

“Our students are very excited about having people from the community coming to see the projects they have worked so hard to create,” said Tricia Schumacher, art coordinator for District 428. “Not many districts have a combined art show for all grades, but we believe people really enjoy it, and our students look forward to the event.” Grade level awards for the artworks will be presented during the special reception on Thursday.
