04/19/08 - McCabe Recognized by Administrator Group As A Leading Administrator
The Illinois Women Administrators chose DeKalb Community Unit School District 428 Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, Becky McCabe, as one of only three women administrators statewide as an honoree for the 20th Annual "Dare to Be Great" Conference in Blomington-Normal, Illinois this weekend. McCabe was recognized for her work in Illinois as an administrator, previously serving as Division Administrator of the State of Illinois' Student Assessment Division, and as a principal in Urbana School District 116. Prior to becoming an administrator, McCabe was also a union president and classroom teacher. She also has been a facilitator for the state's English Language Learner Assessment Advisory Committee, the State Assessment Committee on Students with Disabilities, the State Superintendent's Task Force on Growth Models, and a member of the state's Coalition for High School Reform. .
"Becky is a great leader of educators. We are so pleased and proud to have her as a member of our team here in DeKalb," said Kristina Hesbol, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for District 428.
