03/20/2008 - District 428 Announces Kindergarten Round-Up Registration (en español)
Parents and guardians of children who will be age five prior to September 1, 2008 will be able to register kindergarten students on Wednesday and Thursday, April 23 & 24, 2008. Registration will be available at the Education Center, 901 S. Fourth St., DeKalb in the kindergarten corral (Board Room) from noon until 7:00 p.m. on both days.
Registration packets will be available the week of April 7th through the 11th at all elementary schools or the Education Center. Parents may call the Education Center at 754-2350 between 7:30 and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday and registration materials will be mailed prior to the April 23rd and 24th registration. District 428 will have a registration information page on the district web site beginning Monday, April 7, 2008 at www.dist428.org/registration.
Parents should bring the completed forms to the kindergarten registration at the Education Center. You will need the following documents:
· Child’s Certified Birth Certificate
· Proof of Residency (see form in registration packet)
· Completed Kindergarten Questionnaire
· All Registration Documents
It is important to register your child if he/she will be attending kindergarten in the fall to enable school officials to adequately plan and schedule classes and transportation. If you have any questions you may phone the school district office at 754-2350. Also, please provide this information to any friends with kindergarten age children.
Placements in morning and afternoon sessions will not be based on first come, first served, but on need.
